I've noticed as much of a drop out rate of 70%
in less than a week.

Reciprocity – People only follow you initially because
they want you to follow back…

You have no value in anyone's eyes until you
actually follow back. Then after you've followed
back, the value you offer in your updates and
communications determines your Real Value
